CHANNAL (Consumers' Health Awareness Network Newfoundland And Labrador) is a registered charity and the only non-profit provincial organization created by and for individuals living with mental health and addictions issues. CHANNAL’s primary goal is to support and encourage recovery through self-determination and the realization of full participation in society for our members.
Since CHANNAL's origin as a program in 1989, we have worked to create a safe place where individuals living with mental health and addictions can relate to each other, receive support from one another and learn from one another to live a full and rewarding life without the negative effects of stigma and discrimination.
CHANNAL’s vision is that individuals living with mental health and addictions issues realize their full potential free from stigma and isolation.
CHANNAL’s mission is to inspire hope for recovery and improve the quality of life for individuals living with mental health and addictions issues and their supporters. We do this through peer support, public education and policy consultation.
